At St. Simon’s, we recognize that Jesus not only taught and healed the sick, but he also spent time in fellowship with people from all walks of life.  Following in Jesus’ footsteps, we also hold fellowship in high regard as a church community.  So we spend time with one another, enjoying each other’s company, and engaging in activities which are fun and sometimes even frivolous.  Whoever you are, there is a group for you at St. Simon’s.

Sunday Social

After both our 8:15 and 10:00 a.m. services on Sunday morning, we get together for a time of fun, fellowship, and goodies.

Sunday Social is a relaxed, informal time for all ages. This is a time to connect and chat with friends, make new friends, and enjoy our Church Family.

What better way to begin your Sunday? Start with an inspired and uplifting Sunday Service, followed by our Sunday Social!

Caribbean Group

The St. Simon’s Caribbean Group includes members of the Parish from the Caribbean and the extended St. Simon’s community. The group has held successful Caribbean dinner and dance events in June, as well as organizing a Christmas pot luck dinner for our Church Family. Planning the events and sharing the evenings with the community are always times of fun and great fellowship.

St. Simon’s Social Club

The St. Simon’s Social Club is an informal and relaxed group which provides friendship, social events, and outings for the members of the St. Simon’s Parish. The primary focus of planned events address the interests of our senior parishioners, but events are open to all ages. There is no membership fee to join, members may choose to attend events which are of interest to them, and costs of events are kept to a minimum.

Previous functions have included:

  • Pleasant picnics on the lawn.
  • Boat cruises.
  • Wine and cheese evenings.
  • Christmas lunches.
  • Dinner theatre, and more…

St. Simon’s Spirits

This high-energy softball team plays in Oakville’s inner-church league during the summer months.  It’s a great time of fun and fellowship.  This group brings out all kinds!  With our very own Parish Rector, Darcey, decked out in his outdated plaid shorts, this group may not win a lot on the scoresheet … but we sure do win in the fun department!  In 2012, the Spirits were even the B Division champs!  Come on out and cheer us on!

Season schedule and park details can be found at the league website:  Anyone interested in playing can contact Jeff Yzerman at  Cost for season is $30.  Players and supporters are welcome at Boston Pizza on Dorval, for post-game refreshments.
