With the downward trend in COVID-19 cases and correspondingly reduced numbers of people in hospital, the Diocese has loosened some of the COVID protocols for churches in the Diocese of Niagara.
At St. Simon’s you will notice the following changes:
The capacity limits have been lifted – so feel free to bring a friend!
We are no longer maintaining a list of those attending.
You can sit where you wish, with the exception of the front pews, which will remain roped off in order to maintain a 2m distance between the congregation and Fr Malcolm, readers, intercessors, announcers, and people removing their masks to consume the communion host.
Everyone will continue to be required to wear a mask, preferably a medical mask, while in the building. Malcolm when preaching and readers, intercessors and announcers when reading, will be permitted to remove their masks.
It is expected that “coffee time”, following the Sunday service, will resume in late April dependent on an adequate number of people volunteering. Jim & Lynn Sampson and Jill Howe have graciously offered to coordinate “coffee hour” volunteers. If you’d like to help out please contact either Jim, Lynn or Jill or contact Chris at the church office
A children’s ministry on Sunday mornings will soon resume under the leadership of Jan Cowie. Please contact Chris at firstname.lastname@example.org with the names and ages of children who might be participating in this program. Watch the announcements for the date the children’s program begins.
Let’s hope and pray the current downward trends in hospitalizations and cases continues! If you have any questions please contact email@example.com
